Jim Michels Joins AGC Wisconsin Specialty Contractor Board

Boyer Fire Protection is proud to share that Jim Michels, V.P. of Design and Wisconsin Branch Manager, has joined the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin (AGC WI) Specialty Contractor Board of Directors. This Board, which consists of eight industry professionals from various specialty trades, plays a key role in advocating for contractors across the state.
About the AGC Wisconsin
The AGC WI provides valuable insights into government regulations, labor relations, safety, and industry trends, helping contractors stay competitive. “Being a part of AGC Wisconsin allows access to these resources, which is why Boyer Fire Protection became a member last year after entering the Wisconsin fire sprinkler contractor market,” Jim explained. This membership aligns with Boyer Fire Protection’s goal to establish itself as a trusted fire sprinkler contractor in the region, strengthening its presence and building strong industry relationships.
After attending AGC WI networking events and meeting key industry leaders, Jim was invited to fill a Director seat on the Specialty Contractor Board. This three-year term includes quarterly meetings that focus on industry-wide challenges, from government and legal issues to workforce development and education. Jim noted, “The first meeting I attended, I was amazed at the topics that were addressed and discussed. These appeared to me to be all ‘behind the scenes’ topics—things most of us don’t get much of a chance to learn in our day-to-day work, yet they completely drive our industry.”
By serving on this board, Jim is not only representing Boyer Fire Protection but also ensuring that the company remains informed and engaged in key discussions affecting specialty contractors. This opportunity enables Jim to advocate for specialty contractors while also ensuring that Boyer Fire Protection stays ahead of industry developments. Through this role, we are given the opportunity to proactively address challenges, strengthen partnerships, and enhance our ability to deliver top-tier fire protection solutions in the Wisconsin market.
Jim’s role will provide Boyer Fire Protection with firsthand insights into industry changes, potential regulatory shifts, and workforce trends that can influence operations in Wisconsin and beyond. Richard M. Boyer, President of Boyer Fire Protection, adds, “Boyer Fire Protection remains committed to growing its presence in Wisconsin, and Jim’s appointment to the AGC WI Specialty Contractor Board reinforces that commitment.” By actively participating in leadership and industry advocacy, Boyer Fire Protection continues to establish itself as a key player in fire sprinkler protection across the region.
