Senior Fire Sprinkler Designer / Project Manager
Location: St. Louis, MO, Southern, IL, & Madison, WI
Position Type: Full Time
Overview
Responsible for creating complete Design Documents of Fire Sprinkler Systems (including submittal and installation drawings, hydraulic calculations, seismic calculations, fabrication stock lists of materials, and closeout valve charts with record drawings) utilizing the appropriate software. The documents are created to seek approval of the authorities having jurisdiction and prefabricate the piping systems.
A Senior Designer is responsible for coordination of all design layouts and communicating with all internal and external project team members. They will assist the sales staff in providing and completing estimates and proposals for certain pre-determined projects and will design and project manage those projects if acquired. A Senior Designer will also be involved in mentoring Design Technicians and Design Technician Trainees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and draft Fire Protection Systems in accordance with all applicable building codes and NFPA standards within the scope of the contract, while conforming piping arrangements to meet standard product or material usage as well as the most efficient installation, fabrication, and stock listing techniques.
- Prepare hydraulic and seismic calculations as required.
- Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and vendors on project details, schedules, and changes.
- Obtain required design approvals and maintain organized project records.
- Generate accurate stocklists for material and fabrication quotes.
- Participate in turnover meetings and assist with customer follow-ups post-award.
- Support project management and field teams with technical input and scope revisions.
- Assist with estimating, feasibility reviews, and technical interpretations as needed.
- Prepare all project documentation, including Valve Charts and Record Drawings.
- Communicate via appropriate electronic correspondence and maintain regular check-ins with sales and design leadership.
- Source competitive vendor quotes and subcontractor pricing to support bids.
- Contribute to bid strategy, preliminary design, and full cost estimates.
- Review and finalize estimates with sales staff and prepare customer quotations.
- Follow up on bids and actively manage awarded projects from design through completion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Associate Degree in Construction, Structure, Mechanical, Architectural, or Fire Protection
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience with Fire Sprinkler Design
- Proficient with AutoCAD / HydaCAD, AutoSPRINK, or Revit / HydraCAD drawing softwares
- Has designed many different project types (ESFR, Residential with CPVC, Fire Pumps, Standpipes, Retrofit, Attics, Pre-action)
- Able to design any project with no supervision and minimal reviews
- NICET III or IV Certification and BIM Experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills

Fire Sprinkler Design Layout Technician Trainee
Location: St. Louis, MO, Southern, IL & Madison, WI

Overview
Design Technician Trainee reports directly to the V.P. of Design / Design Manager and is responsible for learning how to create Design Documents of Fire Sprinkler Systems (including submittal and installation drawings, hydraulic calculations, seismic calculations, and stock list of materials) utilizing the appropriate software.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn to design and draft Fire Protection Systems in accordance with all applicable building codes and NFPA standards within the scope of the contract, while conforming piping arrangements to meet standard product or material usage as well as the most efficient installation, fabrication, and stock listing techniques.
- Learn the basics of hydraulic calculations and seismic calculations.
- Represent Boyer Fire Protection in matters of project coordination, scheduling, change requests, and technical assistance.
- Help with obtaining necessary approvals and review of project design data.
- Maintain organized records of active projects in which involved.
- Prepare smaller stocklists to obtain material and fabrication quotes.
- Learn how to stocklist larger projects.
- After a project is awarded, participate in any turnover meetings, share information, and assist with any follow-up with the customer as requested.
- Learn to assist in managing the projects with Project Managers and Construction Superintendent.
- Learn to assemble for the Project Manager, material, labor, fabrication, design, and any other costs required in a scope revision (change order).
- Prepare proper electronic correspondence (coordination, transmittals, confirmation e-mails, etc).

Overview
The Life Safety Sales Representative plays a key role in driving new business by promoting and selling NFPA 25 Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) agreements, fire extinguishers, and related services. This position focuses on securing long-term contracts, overseeing project completions, and conducting specialized training for stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development – Secure 3-5 year NFPA 25 ITM agreements and drive sales of new fire extinguishers and related services.
- Client Outreach – Identify potential customers (building owners, property managers, AHJs) through market research, cold calling, and in-person visits to present proposals and finalize contracts.
- Project Closeout & ITM Integration – Ensure smooth transitions from project completion to ITM agreements, managing barcoding, signage, and compliance documentation.
- Customer Relations & Service Agreements – Address post-installation inquiries, maintain client satisfaction, and follow up on renewals and service agreements.
- Training & Education – Design and deliver at least two annual training sessions for stakeholders, including building owners, property managers, fire departments, and AHJs, on fire protection essentials. Maintain records of training activities.
- CRM & Reporting – Keep detailed client interactions and service agreements updated in the company’s CRM system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or related field.

669 Sprinkler Fitter Foreman
Location: Southern IL & Madison, WI

Overview
The Sprinkler Fitter Foreman reports to the Superintendent or Branch Manager and is responsible for leading a team of Sprinkler Fitters and Apprentices in the installation, repair, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to ensure job site safety, efficiency, and compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Supervision – Lead and supervise Sprinkler Fitters and Apprentices, providing training, mentorship, and on-site support.
- Installation & Maintenance – Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems, underground fire mains, and fixed extinguishing systems.
- Project Coordination – Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily work activities, ensuring compliance with safety and code requirements.
- Material & Equipment Management – Maintain and manage inventory, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate supplies for project completion.
- Job Site Oversight & Safety Compliance – Maintain clean and organized job sites, enforce safety protocols, and conduct quality control inspections.

- Project Oversight & Coordination – Review contracts, specifications, and safety requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals.
